Priea Soni Rana Co-Founder I have been passionate about skincare for as long as I can remember. My journey started at the age of 12, when I personally struggled with tanning, pigmentation, and uneven skin tone, and became deeply curious about skincare products.
Over the years, I travelled extensively across countries including South Korea, Japan, France, the United States, and the UAE, exploring some of the world’s most advanced beauty markets. I spent years studying skincare products firsthand. These experiences gave me a global perspective on how aspirational beauty brands are built and why certain products create long-term consumer loyalty.
I pursued my undergraduate studies in Pre-Medicine at Miami University, USA, and the American University in Dubai, UAE, where I developed foundational knowledge in chemistry, cosmetic ingredients, formulation science, and skincare-related product development.
The vision behind Glopop was born from a simple but powerful belief: India has the potential to build globally respected skincare brands, not just manufacture products for international companies. I believe the global beauty industry is shifting toward ingredient-led, culturally rooted, digitally native brands and India is at the beginning of a massive opportunity in this space.
The success of brands like Indē Wild, which combined Ayurvedic positioning with global skincare innovation and expanded into retailers like Sephora USA, further validates this opportunity. Similarly, Minimalist demonstrated the scale potential of Indian skincare brands after being acquired by Hindustan Unilever Limited in a deal reportedly valued at approximately ₹3,000 crore. And how can we miss out on Rhode by Hailey Bieber that created a cult-like following within months of launch. The beauty space is evolving and growing in India and across the world.
My long-term vision for Glopop is to build a globally recognized skincare brand emerging from India. One that combines Korean innovation, Indian science, strong consumer branding, and high-frequency repeat products to create a meaningful and scalable beauty business for the next generation.
